For years community children have been attempted to be indoctrinated into this cult like atmosphere when sent to Vacation Bible School by unknowing parents.
Having kids gain points for tickets to the celebration fair at the end of VBS… bringing their dad nets more points than bringing their mom. Better wear a dress if you are female, not watch mainstream tv, movies…even Disney! Or the little girls waiting for God to tell
them who their husband will be? I have so many bizarre and creepy memories from VBS in the 1990’s.
Let’s not forget the number of church members that live on the property, behind the church in their own cult commune (at least they used to!)

  • I appreciate this church for their firm stand on the Word of God and their love for people. This church will help you raise your family to serve the Lord!

This “church” is nothing but a legalistic cult. The focus is entirely on the members believing they are the “Godly example” to the world, yet there is no true love or grace as modeled by Jesus, only judgmental harshness with a sick focus on externals such as style of dress, separating from “sinners”and self-righteousness. Everything Jesus IS NOT. Stay away from this cult. The pastor is an arrogant man who requires adoration and obedience from his members. There is a reason this church never grows. It’s a scary place.

  • I have visited hundreds of churches in my lifetime and have increasingly grown in appreciation for this church. Pastor Roberts has a deep, obvious desire to stand firmly on the Bible regardless of what theological trends come and go. He has a deep reverence for God and His holiness, and a desire to help others live for God in a world that seeks to lure many away from God. This is a great place to learn the Bible, develop a real relationship with God, and be challenged to reach out to people around you!
Also, the music here is excellent and really helps you develop a deeper relationship with God! My kids love the kids programs and I'm so thankful for how God is working in their lives through these programs. It is also a great outreach into the community.

  • I have had the distinct privilege of growing up in this church. I have visited many many churches over the years but none can compare to this church. There is a genuine love for the Lord, the community, and the world. There are missionaries serving around the world because of this church. Now I have my own family and wouldn't want them in any other church. You will feel welcomed and loved. The heart of the Pastors are genuine and are dedicated to meeting the needs of the flock. It is so wonderful hearing preaching that is relevant and timeless. I encourage anyone to come and visit. It's a wonderful church family to be a part of and from the bottom of my heart I am so thankful for this church and its wonderful and caring Pastor.

Don't be fooled by their welcoming arms. These people seem ever so sweet at first until their true colors show.
    Enjoy beating your children?
Then this place is perfect for you as that is all the pastor seems fixated on.
    Enjoy giving money away?
Then this place is perfect for you as that is the pastor's second fixation.
Oh and let me add Disney movies are bringing the Devil into your home. Hollywood is ruining America. This is a topic you here an almost a weekly basis. Instead of letting you decide what you will watch in your own home they question and pry into your own personal life constantly. Even Frozen is trying to turn your kid gay.
Being gay is one of the most sick sins to commit here. They enjoy referring to the gay community as "sodomites."
Ladies: Don't wear pants here or they'll will accuse you of being a "strange women" and causing men to lust after you. Don't be fooled by saying you can wear pants. You'll be greeted by cold stares and children pointing at you whispering to there mommies "why is that lady wearing pants? that's sin"
Be prepared for 3 hour long rambling sermons either about child discipline, tithing,or women's dress. I could go on but let's end it here.
Edit: my bad I meant the whole service could easily be 3 hours not just the sermon since that is apparently my biggest exaggeration.
People leaving these one star reviews are not disgruntled teenagers but rather adults who have been truly hurt by this church. Many do not feel comfortable using their real name as the church would harass them or their families or friends who may still attend this cult for their association with a person who would dare leave a bad review on the "ONLY CHURCH WHO TRULY FOLLOWS GOD."

@Thomas Ross, you have successfully reaffirmed what so many users have already reviewed about this church: the church will not apologize to those who have been hurt, the church does not see dozens of people leaving as a problem or a concern for change, and the church and prominent members thereof only continue to tell us how great their pastor is and deny any accountability on his part to answer for those who have been hurt. Stop making excuses.
Many who have written reviews still attend themselves or have family and friends there and the shunning and shaming treatment is real. For their protection most likely their names are not disclosed. If I were to attached my real name to this, inevitably I would be personally contacted and told how deceived I am. Funny because no one cared to contact me when I left, spiritually suffering and needing help. How dare you deny the hurt and pain of people by assigning any negative review on the church to “felons” or “rebellious teens.” Do you really know the name of every possible person who might write a review? As the pastor’s own son in law, you cannot answer for every person outside of the family running that church.
1 Timothy 3 describes a pastor as sober-minded, self-controlled, humble, and not argumentative. Last time I spoke to an MBC member this was not the case with the pastor. Many have left over a simple issue that should have been resolved had the pastor’s pride not been in the way. I wish I could list them here but for other’s privacy I will not. The pastor has long lost control of the church, raising his voice and shouting his arguments when preaching will not compel people to stay. I pray there will be change and proud people humbled.
As someone who has worked in the community all my life, I know this church’s reputation well and their outreach isn’t as glittering as portrayed. I wish every family or person who has been negatively affected could say something because I know that list would be far greater than the list of those who haven’t been hurt in this way. As another has said, it’s a great place to get saved and become a Christian, but a very difficult place to grow. Worse than slander is the twisting of scripture and condescending pride found here.

This church expects you to have all the convictions and standard they do. How are you supposed to reach a community if the pastor and staff of the church want to control everything you do. If you are a Christian and you Wear pants then they will tell you that you are not saved. If you let your kids watch Disney or any kind of TV then this church thinks you are worshiping the devil. So many people have left this church because the pastor and staff tried to force all the same standards and convictions on them. I respect everyone that has personal standards or convictions but I have no respect for this church. I personally attended this church and know from experience how it is. The church will undoubtedly report this review to get it taken down so you can't hear the truth that goes on here (just like they did with all the other reviews that were left). The reason I have not left my name is because I fear being harassed by people still attending this church.
